Cars and the city

Private cars should be restricted from entering city centers as they contribute to the negative impacts of urban living. It is ironic that individuals choose to drive short distances to work when walking would be just as efficient, if not more so. Furthermore, many of these same individuals then pay for a gym membership to work out, adding unnecessary expenses for both the car and the gym facility.

Italian cities are not designed for cars, but rather for pedestrians and horse carts. The presence of cars obstructs the view of the beauty of the cities, creates unpleasant odors, and causes stress for pedestrians. I hope that soon these cars will be replaced by self-driving electric vehicles, only using them where absolutely necessary.

I no longer possess a valid driving license. It expired on my 70th birthday. I have never been fond of driving and was never particularly skilled at it. Therefore, I made the decision not to renew my driving license. With my eyesight deteriorating, I believe it is safer for both myself and others if I rely on walking, buses, and taxis instead.
