 The Bad News and the Good News

Let’s start with the bad news: Nixy will not be present at the gathering on June 21. She has to remain in Wuhan.
The good news: the Midsummer Night Party will become a tradition and will also take place in 2026 and 2027 as an event connected to our blog Wuhan-Umbria.com.

But what happened?

Nixy returned to Wuhan in February for a few months. In April, she was taken into custody by the police because criminals had hijacked Winesong’s bank account and used it for illegal activities. Nixy spent 36 days in detention under suspicion of being involved with the fraudsters. She is now free but cannot leave Wuhan until the case is resolved—this could take a month, six months, or up to a year.
Nixy will write about her experience and publish an article in China, which will also be accessible here.

With this notice, I want to prevent any false stories from circulating:
Her arrest had nothing to do with her traveling outside China. The legal process is strictly following Chinese law, and everything will be resolved accordingly.

I will take advantage of Nixy’s enforced stay in Wuhan to spend longer periods there myself.

Despite her absence, we decided to proceed with the party and to start a tradition:
The Wuhan-Umbria Midsummer Night Party, mainly in Perugia, but potentially also in Wuhan in the future.

📰 Die schlechte und die gute Nachricht

Zuerst die schlechte Nachricht: Nixy wird beim Treffen am 21. Juni nicht dabei sein. Sie muss in Wuhan bleiben.
Die gute Nachricht: Das Mittsommernachtsfest wird zur Tradition und findet auch 2026 und 2027 als Veranstaltung unseres Blogs Wuhan-Umbria.com statt.

Aber was ist passiert?

Nixy war im Februar für einige Monate nach Wuhan zurückgekehrt. Im April wurde sie von der Polizei in Gewahrsam genommen, weil Kriminelle das Bankkonto von Winesong gekapert und für illegale Aktivitäten genutzt hatten. Nixy verbrachte 36 Tage in Untersuchungshaft, da sie verdächtigt wurde, den Betrügern geholfen zu haben.
Sie ist jetzt frei, darf Wuhan aber nicht verlassen, solange das Verfahren läuft – dies kann ein Monat, sechs Monate oder bis zu einem Jahr dauern.
Nixy wird einen Artikel darüber schreiben und ihn auch hier zugänglich machen.

Ich möchte mit dieser Mitteilung verhindern, dass falsche Gerüchte entstehen:
Ihre Festnahme hatte nichts damit zu tun, dass sie China verlassen hatte. Das Verfahren folgt exakt dem chinesischen Gesetz und wird auch so gelöst.

Ich werde ihre erzwungene Anwesenheit in Wuhan nutzen, um selbst dort längere Zeit zu verbringen.

Trotz Nixys Abwesenheit haben wir beschlossen, das Fest durchzuführen und eine Tradition zu beginnen:
Das Wuhan-Umbrien-Mittsommernachtsfest, hauptsächlich in Perugia, vielleicht auch zukünftig in Wuhan.

📰 Le cattive notizie e le buone notizie

Cominciamo dalle cattive notizie: Nixy non potrà essere presente alla festa del 21 giugno. Deve restare a Wuhan.
Le buone notizie: la Festa di Mezza Estate diventerà una tradizione e si terrà anche nel 2026 e 2027 come evento legato al nostro blog Wuhan-Umbria.com.

Ma cosa è successo?

Nixy era tornata a Wuhan in febbraio per alcuni mesi. In aprile è stata presa in custodia dalla polizia perché dei criminali avevano violato il conto bancario di Winesong usandolo per attività illegali.
Nixy ha passato 36 giorni in detenzione, sospettata di aver aiutato i truffatori. Ora è libera, ma non può lasciare Wuhan finché il caso non sarà chiuso – il che potrebbe richiedere un mese, sei mesi o al massimo un anno.
Nixy scriverà un articolo su quanto accaduto, che sarà pubblicato anche qui.

Con questo avviso voglio evitare che si diffondano false versioni:
Il suo arresto non è stato causato da un allontanamento dalla Cina. Le procedure seguono rigorosamente la legge cinese e tutto sarà risolto secondo la legge.

Approfitterò del soggiorno forzato di Nixy per trascorrere anche io periodi più lunghi a Wuhan.

Nonostante la sua assenza, abbiamo deciso di andare avanti con la festa e di avviare una tradizione:
La Festa di Mezza Estate Wuhan-Umbria, che si terrà principalmente a Perugia, ma forse in futuro anche a Wuhan.
