Soana

The wine had changed, but nearly to the better. The usual fruits of apples and pears did transform to tropical fruit and a very elegant scent of confiture.

Soana is the product of the cantina sociale di Monterubaglio. The more than ghost wine maker is Riccardo Cotarella and he knows his business.

In 2019 Soana was still “superiore” This title it has given up to the “Papabile”, the new superiore ofMonrubio.

But title is one thingquality another. I always liked Soana. I know now many Orvieto classico, which are better, but they cost also double.

This 2023 bottle had a nice fruitiness with pear aromas prevailing, but in the background also some agrumi.
